Alright, my lovies, I need some input. I'm online at the library right now since Mashiro decided to crap out on me. I'm looking into getting it fixed, but it's going to be a few weeks since I'm budgeting big time to save for the cruise.

I'd love it if my friends would rec some good fiction books for me! I'm big into sc-fi/fantasy and stuff like the Anita Blake series, but I'm open to suggestions!

Anything by Neil Gaiman (Although I'd suggest Neverwhere as a starting point)

I've recently gotten into Paranormal Romance books... kind of campy, but I've enjoyed them.

Books I rec':
  • Really Vampires Have Curves and Real Vampires Live Large by Gerry Bartlett
  • Karma Girl and Hot Mama by Jennifer Estep
  • Aisling Grey Guardian Books (4 in series) by Katie McAlister

You might also like the Rachel Morgan Series (1st book - Dead Witch Walking) by Kim Harrison.

    Hope this helps. :)

Anything Pratchett is good. Also, were you aware that there are Torchwood novels out? I saw two at Borders the other day. I believe there are six in total.

*peers down at shelves and ponders* Well, I mean, as far as scifi goes, I really rather enjoy the Doctor Who series. The proper novels. Like Attack of the Zygons, and all. But I haven't seen a decent one of those around in years. Hm.

The eternal pimps are Robin Hobb's Farseer, Liveship Traders and Tawny Man trilogies, which start with Assassin's Apprentice. When I try to describe what is in them I sound trite and silly because there is far too much to love without hours and hours to faff on about them.

Ummmm, other than that... Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card was good. (I'd have a more comprehensive list, but I have uni in half an hour. XD)

The Dresden Files, the Cal Leandros books (by Rob Thurman), The Foundation Books by Isaac Asimov, the Blood books by Tanya Huff... ummm, I'll think of more...

I'm absolutely addicted to these Hex & the City books -- the first is called "Enchanted, Inc." It is an AWESOME mixture of urban fantasy and chick lit and my entire being longs to turn it into a t.v. series. It's just SO MUCH FUN. (Merlin reading cheezy leadership books? An archvillain with ADD? LOVE IT!)

Also, Melissa Senate writes some great chick lit, albeit not sci-fi/fantasy. Love You to Death was a great little murder mystery, and The Break-Up Club was a really sweet general chick lit book.

Sorry, chick lit is kind of on the brain. xD;; I hit a groove with Melissa Senate and I haven't yet broken out.
