Mohter's Day went really well, considering it isn't a favorite day of mine. Piper got me the newest Dresden Files book (Small favor) and I found out she bought it with her own funds. Completely selfless, she is. Most of the time.
I've told a few people online about the good news we got for her recently. She was invited to the Junior National Young Leaders Conference. This is a huge honor and from what I've learned, she's the only one invited from the Oklahoma City metro area. We're all so proud of her. I'm not too sure if she realizes just what an opportunity this is, but she's excited to go and be with other kids like her. Bad thing is, tuition for the conference is $1840, not counting airfare. We're looking for local business and the city of Moore as possible sponsers, if she's not able to win a schlorship (keep your fingers crossed on that; she's working on the application tonight). I did some digging last night and found out airfare there is around $600-$700 round trip.
I have no idea how in the hell I'm going afford this for her, but I have to find a way.
On another plus note: I'm pondering who else to app come the next open time at Poly. Any requests, loves?
