My hands won't stop shaking...

Tripod, my ornate box turtle, has been trying to get out of the yard for days. Today, she succeeded. I found her on the street in front of my house. Someone had hit her. She's quite bloody, in a box, in my garage, still trying to bite me. The emergency vet clinic is an hour away, and they don't handle reptiles enough to help. Her normal vet won't be open until 9 AM tomorrow morning. I told her we would take her to the vet tomorrow morning if she was still alive.

My daughter is in pieces, and so am I.

It might seem silly to some, to be so upset over a turtle, but she is my pet, just like the others I have now, and just like the dog we had to have put down two years ago in September. I doubt I'll get much sleep tonight...

awwww... *HUGS*

don't feel stupid...she is your pet and i know how you feel, no matter if it's a turtle or a dog......they're still our babies, and we don't want them to suffer

i'll pray that she's still alive in the morning

Thank you... She's still alive and trying to bite, but you can tell she's hurting. We've got her shell all wrapped up and we're keeping her warm, so we're doing all we can...

My heart goes out

It is definitely not silly to be upset over your turtle. don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I hope she will be ok. Keep me up to date.
