What can I say?

Well, I took Tripod to the vet this morning, and was devestated by the news. Both sides of the hinge on the bottom of her shell were ruptured, and wide open. After the vet cleaned her up and examined her, she told me she had a 15% chance to survive, because she had so much damage to the hinges. She was in pain and would probably be infected soon, with all the crap she had in the damage area. I was told it would take months of trying to heal this, and she would be in constant pain due to where the injuries were. I made a decision, and held her while she went to sleep. She even tried to bite me before she passed away. Sounds just like her, doesn't it? I told her not to bite anyone in Heaven...


I'll miss her dearly, and I'm glad she's not in pain.

Christy, I am so sorry to hear that. Losing a pet is so devastating, it is really like losing a big piece of you. Again, I am so totally heartbroken. Your are in my prayers.

Like I told you last night. Im sorry to hear about Miss Tripod!! I wish there was something that could have been done. So that she wouldn't have been in so much pain. I will definitely be keeping you all in my thoughts!! *hugs*

A turtle is a pet, and part of your family, same as a cat or a dog or that hamster I used to have.

I hope you feel better soon, and I'm sorry there was no helping her.
