Jul. 1st, 2005 09:49 amWell, today is the day. Piper's 9th birthday. She's getting so big now... so damn independent. She's mouthy at times, but I think that's the age. She's grumpy sometimes, too, but that's got to be genetic. She tries my patience every single day, but that's OK. I'm sure I try hers too. She's a handful with her constant questions (at completely inapproiate times) and her love of silly jokes (nothing too bad yet).
She is rowdy and wild, skinned knees and grass stains. A little lady with bruised shins, a turtle wrangler that loves her charges. She's my fellow anime critic, even if she's not ready to watch most of the ones I watch (she still thinks she should be Sailor Mars. With the temper, she might be right about that.) She's a foot-stomper and noise-maker, a little diva and a wanna-be magician ("how did you get that penny from behind my ear, mom?") She's a deep thinker and a quick talker (which gets her in trouble at times), a warm pair of arms when she snuggles with me first thing in the morning and a sleepy smile when she protests her bedtime, telling me she's 'not sleepy'. She's the sunshine on a perfect spring morning, and the late afternoon thunderstorm of a summer's day.
Most of all, she's my reason for making it this far after my divorce and stupid things I've done in life.
She's my one and only baby girl.
Am I being sappy? Hell yes. ^_^
