Oct. 6th, 2005 09:55 pmWell, it's been another day in one completely rotten ass week. Two weeks... whatever. Piper was sick last week with strep. Ick. That got all healed up. Yay. Earlier this week, I found a lump under my arm. Freaked out is the politest term for what I did. Went to the doc the next morning, and he found three lumps in my breast. I've got a biopsy scheduled for next Wednesday. I've been sluggish and snappy at work, and I apologise to all my co-workers for my lack of action and my abnundance of attitude. Now, I was looking forward to my three day weekend (thank heavens for Columbus Day) to recoup and spend some calm time with Piper.
As if I'd be that fucking lucky.
Tonight, I asked Piper if she'd help me feed the babies some fruit as a treat tonight. She went in to get them out of their 'houses'. She cam back into the kitcheh, running, freaking out, telling me "Mom, I took Cupcake out of her house and she's not moving!" I went to see what was going on. Well, low and behold, she was dead. Piper's in pieces.
We found our 3 babies in the yard almost one year ago (they'll be a year old on teh 10th of October). We each had one that was our special one. Piper named Cupcake because she always used to go for the cream filling in her mealworms and waxworms. Piper fed her and soaked her daily. She took her ourside in the back yard on sunny days. This was HER baby. She worried when she wouldn't eat because she was protesting when we got them new worms... And she was the one that found her.
There are some days when I wish the world would stop.
